   PIN Questions

  What is a PIN?
A PIN is a personal identification number provided by your Service provider (SP) when you sign up for or are provided with a security service.

  What if I don't have a PIN?
In some cases you may be able to find your PIN on your device. Look for a folder called “Norton Installation Files” on your device which contains a file called “downloadinfo.txt”. If you have this file, you can find your PIN here.

If you do not have that file, please contact your service provider for support to obtain your PIN.

Why do I need a PIN?
Providing your PIN verifies that you are authorized to receive this security service and initiates your protection.

   Sign Up for Service

How do I sign up for service?

   Activation

Why do I need to activate my service?
Activation verifies that you are authorized to receive this security service and initiates your protection.

What happens if I don't activate my service?
The software associated with this security service will not work and your device will not be protected.

What happens once my service is activated?
The software associated with this security service will protect your device until the service is cancelled.

   Device Name

Why do I have to enter my device name?
The license for the service is linked to the device on which you have installed the service. References to that license will include the device name that you provide for easy identification.

  What is it used for?
If you need to transfer the service to another device, you will need to be able to identify the device that you are transferring the service from. The easiest way to do this is to refer to the device by a name that you provide.

What if I don't enter a device name?
We will provide one for you. We strongly recommend that you provide one, as it will be easier for you to remember should you need to use it.

   Licenses

On how many devices can I install the security service software?
The number of installations you are allowed is determined by the number of licenses for the service you purchased from your Service provider (SP).

How can I protect other devices in my house?

What does it mean to "deactivate" the service on one of my devices?
Deactivation means that the software associated with the service will no longer function on that device. You can either purchase a license to reinstate the service on that device or uninstall the software.
